Warm holiday greetings to everyone! If your holiday plans include baking, here’s a recipe that Kris used in a recent cookie exchange. Enjoy!

Ginger Cookies

3/4 Cup Shortening                             2 Cups Flour

1 Cup Sugar                                        2 Tsp. Baking Soda

1 Egg                                                  1 Tsp. Cinnamon

1/4 Cup Molasses                               1 Tsp. Ground Cloves

Powdered Sugar                                 1 Tsp. Ground Ginger

Mix the shortening, sugar, egg and molasses together. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger, and then mix all of that in with the other ingredients. Form the dough into balls and lightly press each one with the tines of a fork on a cookie sheet. 

Bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees.

Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
