Glen Mills

The area around Glen Mills was part of the original land grant given to William Penn in 1681. The name Glen Mills comes from two paper mills that were thriving in the mid-1800’s and for a time supplied the United States government with a special, patented paper for the printing of government bonds and notes. A grist mill built by Nathaniel Newlin still stands and can be visited today.
